About Coaching Clinics

The Australian Mini Basketball Academy (AMBA) conducts coaching clinics as Basketball Holiday Camps, and in-school lessons in primary schools around Sydney.
AMBA was established in 1992 and is now one of the largest privately run basketball organisation in New South Wales . A.M.B.A. provides opportunities for all primary age children to develop and improve their skills in basketball, in a fun but structured environment. Under the guidance of our experienced and accredited staff, who provide a high standard of coaching, children learn the fundamentals of the game, develop basic skills and participate in activities adapted to suit different ages and abilities.
The highly respected and accredited basketball coach Mr Wayne Jennings runs all A.M.B.A. Basketball lessons. Under his guidance the children learn the fundamentals of the game, develop basic skills and participate in competitions.
The programs are carefully designed so children obtain maximum opportunities to develop their basketball skills

Holiday Basketball Camps

At the end of each school term A.M.B.A. Basketball holds a Learn to Play and an Advanced Basketball Camp for boys and girls aged 5 to 12 years. Camps are held simultaneously during one week of the holidays, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 2.00pm.
The Learn to Play Camp is designed for players who have just begun to play and wish to learn the rules and develop their basketball skills.
The Advanced Camp caters for experienced players who wish to take their game to a higher level.
Those parents eligible to claim a cash rebate under the Medicare rebate scheme are able to do so for these camps.
NB: The Camps are limited to 30 players on a ‘First in First Served' basis. Once payment is received with a completed enrolment form the player's place is assured.

AMBA In-school Coaching Clinics for Primary Schools.

This highly successful K-6 program has been run at primary schools all over the Sydney metropolitan area. The Academy deals exclusively with classes from Kindergarten to Year 6.
The Australian Mini Basketball Academy 's program is a curriculum based program as set out in the NSW PD/H/PE syllabus and teaches children correct basketball skills and techniques. It focuses on developing eye, hand and body coordination. The lessons cover all basic skills needed for children to participate successfully in basketball, in an easy to follow, step by step format.
All equipment to run the program is supplied by A.M.B.A. Basketball. This includes adjustable rings that can be set at the standard Mini Basketball height, and basketballs for each child to use during the program.
Each class participates in 5 lessons of 30 to 40 minutes duration over the course of a week

Accreditation

All coaches from AMBA Basketball have:
New South Wales Government Child Protection Screening Unit approval.
Coaching accreditation from the Australian Sports Commission.

The academy is fully insured for both professional and public liability and a copy of this policy is available.

After School Basketball Coaching

A.M.B.A. Basketball's after school program is run at various primary schools in the inner west and begins 15 minutes after the conclusion of the school day. The lessons are held in the school grounds with all equipment supplied by A.M.B.A. Basketball. This includes adjustable rings that can be set at the standard Mini Basketball height, and basketballs for each child to use during the program.
A.M.B.A. Basketball provides the opportunity for all primary age children to develop and improve their skills in basketball, in a fun but structured environment. Under the guidance of our experienced and accredited staff, children learn the fundamentals of the game, develop basic skills and participate in activities adapted to suit different ages and abilities.
